Cruise Terminal & Getting to Us
Where Ships Dock
Most cruise ships dock at the Renaissance Marina in Oranjestad, right in the heart of the capital. A second pier (the Aruba Port Authority terminal) handles overflow during busy days. Both are within walking distance of the city centre.
From the Renaissance Marina, our office is approximately 5 minutes by car. We can also arrange to meet you at a specific point near the terminal entrance to minimise your walking time.
Typical Port Times
Most Aruba cruise calls have a port time of 07:00β18:00 or 08:00β19:00, giving you 10β11 hours on the island. Even a standard 7:00β17:00 window leaves comfortably enough time to see the major highlights.
Shorter calls of 6β7 hours are common on multi-stop Caribbean itineraries. We will help you plan the most efficient route for your available time.
The Perfect 6β8 Hour Day Trip Route
Aruba is 32km long and 10km wide. In a full cruise day, you can genuinely see the entire island. Here is our recommended itinerary for making the most of your time:
Cruise Terminal: Renaissance Dock
Your ship docks at the Renaissance Marina in Oranjestad. Walk five minutes to our office or we will have a car waiting at the agreed point.
Drive North: California Lighthouse
Head straight for the California Lighthouse before the day-trippers arrive. Enjoy sunrise views over the northern tip of the island. The drive takes about 30 minutes from Oranjestad.
Arikok National Park
Enter Arikok from the north and drive the park loop. See Aruba's distinctive kunuku landscape, cacti forests, the Fontein cave with pre-Columbian cave paintings, and a natural rock arch.
Natural Pool Area (Conchi vicinity)
The pool itself requires a 4x4 and significant time. On a day trip, we recommend viewing the dramatic north coast from the Boca Mahos lookout point instead, equally spectacular, accessible by sedan.
Baby Beach: Lunch & Swimming
Drive to the south-east corner of the island. Baby Beach has warm, shallow, protected water perfect for a swim and a relaxed lunch at the local snack bar (or bring your own picnic).
San Nicolas Street Art
On the way back, pass through San Nicolas, Aruba's second city, known for its vibrant international street art murals. A 20-minute walk-around is worthwhile.
Oranjestad Shopping
Return to Oranjestad with 1.5β2 hours for Caya G.F. Betico Croes (the main shopping street), the colourful harbour front, and local craft markets.
Return Car & Board Ship
Return the car to our office or a pre-agreed point. Most ships sail by 18:00β19:00, giving you a comfortable buffer.

Book Early: Cruise Days Fill Fast
On peak cruise days, multiple ships dock simultaneously and thousands of passengers flood into Oranjestad. Rental cars are among the first things to sell out, especially economy cars and Jeeps. International rental companies often have no availability on these days, but as a local operator we do our best to maintain reserve stock.

- Book as soon as your cruise itinerary is confirmed, even months ahead
- WhatsApp us your cruise ship name, arrival time, and departure time
- Confirm your booking 48 hours before the port day

Cruise Day Rental FAQ
How close is the cruise terminal to your office?
The Renaissance Marina (the main cruise dock in Oranjestad) is approximately 5 minutes by car and 15 minutes on foot from our office. We can also arrange to have your rental car waiting at or near the terminal so you lose no time at all.
What if my ship arrives late or changes schedule?
Cruise schedules can shift due to weather or port congestion. WhatsApp us as soon as you know your revised arrival time and we will adjust your reservation accordingly. We understand that cruise passengers cannot control their schedule.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, strongly recommended. Aruba is one of the Caribbean's busiest cruise stops and multiple ships can dock on the same day. Economy cars in particular sell out quickly on busy days. Book as soon as your cruise itinerary is confirmed.
What happens if I am not back before the ship sails?
This is the traveller's responsibility. We always recommend returning the car no later than 90 minutes before your ship's scheduled departure time. We will show you exactly where to return the car and the walking route back to the terminal. Plan conservatively.
Can I rent a car if I only have 4-5 hours?
Yes. Even with 4-5 hours you can comfortably visit Eagle Beach (20 min from the port), the California Lighthouse (30 min), or the Palm Beach strip (15 min). We will help you plan the best route for your specific time window.
