    What Our Roadside Assistance Covers

    Flat Tyre

We come to you and either change to the spare wheel or arrange a tyre replacement. Never attempt to change a tyre on a busy Aruban road alone.

    Lockout

Locked your keys inside the car? It happens more than you think at the beach. We dispatch a technician with a spare key as fast as possible.

    Dead Battery

Left the lights on while at the beach? We provide a jumpstart or a battery replacement on-site. Most callouts for dead batteries are resolved within 45 minutes.

    Running Out of Fuel

Aruba has petrol stations distributed across the island but some areas (particularly the national park) have no stations for many kilometres. We can deliver emergency fuel.

    Minor Mechanical Issues

If your vehicle develops a warning light or minor mechanical fault, call us immediately. We will assess by phone first, then send assistance or arrange a vehicle swap if needed.

    Vehicle Swap

If your car cannot be repaired roadside within a reasonable time, we will bring you a replacement vehicle so your day is not ruined.

    Response Times & Island Coverage

One of the genuine advantages of renting from a local Aruba-based company is that our response times are far faster than those of international chains who outsource their roadside assistance to third-party operators. When you call us, you reach our own team, people who know every road, track, and shortcut on this island.

Our target response time is 30–45 minutes to any paved road on the island. Remote areas such as the east coast near Andicuri Beach or the far south near Seroe Colorado may take slightly longer, but we will always give you an honest estimated arrival and check in with you by WhatsApp as we approach.

    Average Response Times

    Palm Beach / Noord / Oranjestad15–25 min
    Eagle Beach / Manchebo / Savaneta20–35 min
San Nicolas / Baby Beach30–45 min
Arikok National Park (paved roads)35–50 min
Remote east coast / unpaved areas45–60 min

What to Do in Case of an Accident

    1

    Ensure Safety First

Turn on hazard lights, move to the side of the road if safe to do so. Check for injuries. If anyone is hurt, call 911 immediately.

    2

Do Not Move the Vehicles (if safe)

Preserving the accident scene helps establish what happened. Take photographs of vehicle positions, damage, licence plates, and the surrounding road before moving anything.

    3

    Exchange Details

Get the other driver's name, licence plate, insurance company and contact details. Witnesses' contact information is also valuable if available.

    4

    Contact Hermanos Immediately

Call or WhatsApp us right away. We guide you through the process, advise on next steps, and liaise with local authorities and insurers on your behalf.

    5

File a Police Report if Required

For accidents involving injury, significant damage, or disputed liability, a police report (filed at the nearest police station or with attending officers) is required for insurance purposes.

    Off-Road Breakdown Policy

Standard roadside assistance covers breakdowns on paved and officially recognised roads. If you take a non-approved vehicle off-road and break down or get stuck, recovery from that terrain is not included in standard assistance and a recovery fee will apply.

If you plan to explore the Natural Pool track, Arikok backcountry, or any unpaved northern coastal routes, you need: (a) a Jeep Wrangler or equivalent 4x4 from our fleet, and (b) the off-road protection add-on which includes extended roadside assistance in those areas. Please discuss this with us before your adventure day.

    Roadside Assistance FAQ

    Is roadside assistance really free?

24/7 roadside assistance is included with every Hermanos rental at no extra charge. This covers the callout itself. Costs for replacement parts (such as tyres) or emergency fuel may be billed separately depending on the circumstances.

What is the typical response time?

Aruba is a small island, roughly 30 minutes end to end. In most cases we reach you within 30–60 minutes of your call. Traffic near Palm Beach during peak tourist hours can occasionally extend this slightly, but we will always give you an estimated arrival time.

What do I do if I have an accident with another vehicle?

First ensure everyone is safe and call 911 if anyone is injured. Do not move the vehicles if possible. Exchange insurance details with the other party and take photographs of both vehicles, the licence plates, the road, and any visible damage. Then call us immediately. We guide you through the next steps and liaise with local authorities.

Am I covered if I go off-road and break down?

Standard roadside assistance covers breakdowns on paved and approved roads. If you drive a non-4x4 vehicle onto unpaved terrain and get stuck or break down, a recovery fee may apply. If you are driving an approved 4x4 with the off-road add-on, roadside assistance applies in those areas too.

What if I break down late at night?

Our WhatsApp line is monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including public holidays. If you break down at 2am, you will get a real response from our team, not an automated message.
